Case Study 3 has been awarded a $25-millioncontract by Eskom for the construction of two 400 kV transmission lines
spanning 174 km. The large-scale concentrated solar power (CSP) projects in the Northern Cape represented its first power transmission contract
in South Africa. Case Study 3 implemented SAP to support its operations and appointed Zimele as its local partner to implement the ISU
functionality to enable the billing of Eskom for electricity supplied to the national grid.
Case Study 3 needed a local partner that could assist with the implementation of ISU EDM (energy data management) solution. As this was a “first of its kind” project in South Africa there were no South African people with experience in the solution and using local people was a key requirement from Eskom.
•Case Study 3 appointed Zimele to implement SAP ISU EDM for two solar plants.
•This was the first ISU EDM project being done in South Africa.
•This enabled Case Study 3 to generate invoices from ISU using periodic data gathered every 15 minutes.
•The project went live successfully within extremely challenging deadlines and a steep learning curve.
•Zimele also provided post go-live support
•Zimele assisted with the splitting of company codes from the Shared Services SAP IS-U model (3 x sites)
