Job Description
Role Purpose
To lead Zimele Technologies’ data capability centre, driving enterprise data transformation across the SAP landscape. This strategic role is responsible for the successful delivery of end-to-end SAP data migration and governance programmes, with emphasis on SAP IS-U, Real Estate, and ECC to S/4HANA conversions, while building internal data talent and advancing client readiness for the digital economy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Data Leadership
· Architect enterprise-grade data migration frameworks using SAP Activate, best practices from PMP and Agile, and the DAMA-DMBOK2 data management framework.
· Direct SAP project data strategies aligned to utility, real estate, retail, and public sector environments.
· Lead data assurance for ECC to S/4HANA transitions, ensuring legacy remediation, reconciliation, and business continuity.

2. Migration, Governance, and Innovation
· Own delivery of structured, auditable, and high-quality migrations across all SAP modules, including FI, CO, MM, SD, PM, HCM, IS-U, RE-FX, and CRM.
· Implement intelligent data tools and automation (SQL, SAP LTMC, LSMW, Migration Cockpit, Data Services, ABAP) to optimise delivery.
· Establish scalable governance structures and embed SAP MDG for sustainable master data quality and business rule enforcement.

3. Capability Building and Mentorship
· Coach junior consultants, data stewards, and graduates into client-facing roles across functional and technical streams.
· Institutionalise knowledge management and internal training aligned to SAP methodologies, industry certifications, and evolving technologies.
· Lead peer reviews, brown bags, and solution design forums across the data capability team.

4. Client Advisory & Engagement
· Run client data readiness workshops, define roadmap strategies, and act as SME in executive planning sessions.
· Provide hands-on guidance in audit response, data risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance (e.g. POPIA, ISO27001).
· Drive agile delivery rituals and business stakeholder engagement across multi-phase data programmes.

5. Delivery Management
· Define and oversee the delivery of project data milestones including mock loads, cutover rehearsals, test validations, and go-live reconciliations.
· Interface with SAP Basis, SAP Functionals teams, integration teams, business process owners, and third-party vendors.
· Govern programme metrics for data quality, productivity, and user adoption.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (B Degree minimum)
· SAP Activate Project Manager Certification
· SAP MDG Certification· DAMA-DMBOK2 Knowledge or Certification
· PMP or Agile/Scrum Master Certification
· Data Architecture or ETL-related training
Experience
· Minimum 15 years in SAP programmes, with 5+ years leading multi-workstream data migration and governance portfolios
· Proven delivery across SAP ECC and S/4HANA, including Utilities (IS-U), Real Estate (RE-FX), Retail, and Public Sector
· Hands-on experience with SAP Data Services, LSMW, LTMC, Migration Cockpit, ALE, ABAP, SQL, and cloud-hosted solutions
· Full lifecycle project experience across all major SAP modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, HCM, CRM, PM, RE-FX, IS-U)
· Strong leadership in multi-country environments (South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa)
· Demonstrated track record of building high-performance data teams and mentoring junior professionals
